There are materials that carry stories without needing to explain them. Petrified wood is one of them.
Each piece is created through a natural process that takes millions of years. Wood becomes buried under mineral-rich sediment, and over time it transforms into stone — preserving the shape and grain of the original tree. It’s as if nature made a perfect casting of the past.
In Indonesia, where I collaborate with local artisans, this material is shaped with patience and respect, always honouring its natural character. It’s cut, polished, and turned into objects that don’t try to shine loudly, yet bring a quiet sense of presence. Their weight, textures and lines make every piece truly one of a kind.
In Classical Feng Shui, petrified wood is connected to the Earth element — grounding, stabilising, and deeply supportive. Perhaps that’s why I feel so drawn to it: it’s a physical reminder that the things that sustain us often come from slowness, depth, and time.
Including it in the collection feels meaningful. Each piece holds a quiet history — one that you can feel simply by holding it.
